GREGORY S. SMITH
C-Level IT Executive, Author, Professor
Gregory S. Smith is an internationally recognized IT executive with decades of experience managing complex IT and business systems. Mr. Smith serves as a C-level IT executive for an organization in the state of Maryland. Previously, Mr. Smith served in a variety of CIO roles with organizations including the American Kidney Fund, Pew Trusts, ASCD, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Mr. Smith's for-profit experience includes a decade in U.S. national security, financial services 100 at SallieMae, and consulting experience as a principal consultant in the management consulting group at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Mr. Smith is the honoree of several awards including: SmartCEO magazine's Top 10 CIOs in the Washington DC area, Computer World's Premier 100 IT leaders, and CIO magazine's CIO 100. Mr. Smith was also recognized by CIO Insight magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential CIOs in the United States.
Mr. Smith also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, graduate programs. Mr. Smith is the recipient of the 2017 and 2022 Tropaia Outstanding Faculty Award for Technology Management at Georgetown University. He has over 20 years of higher education experience teaching the next generation of IT and business leaders.
